OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAPTER
The primary objective for the Naples Junior Chamber, Inc. is to involve all of our members in the Jaycee programs. The activation of the membership will have a positive impact on the individual members as well as our community.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Community Service
Community service is what the Naples Junior Chamber, Inc., does best. For years the Naples Chapter has given to the community in order to make a difference in the community. By working in the community we can also promote membership recruitment and improve our own membership at the same time. Community Service allows for excellent opportunity in Public Relations as well.

Goal: To provide twenty children 50.00 in back to school attire.

Goal: To provide five families Christmas Food Baskets.

Goal: To provide teenage mothers an incentive program to attend school.
Problem: Lack of manpower
Solution Use phone committee to inform members of projects, Utilize the results of the membership survey to provide areas of interest with projects.
Community Fundraising
The Naples area has supported the fundraising for the Naples Jaycees for thirty years. The community is very supportive of the organization. The members wanted to provide a free event ( Fireworks) and utilize money collected at these events back in the community. The members of the Naples Junior Chamber, Inc. feel that telling a person that is buying a soda the money will go to, one of the listed priorities, also gets great public image for our organization.

The Jaycees are an organization that offers opportunities to all young people throughout the state, nation and world. As C. William Brownfield so eloquent out it--the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations-- sums up what this area is about.

Problem: DRT short notice causes problems for gathering materials quickly.
Solutions: Plan for collection locations and donated items in advance
Government Involvement
The Jaycee Creed states, "Government shall be of laws rather than men", this proves that Governmental Involvement is an important aspect of the Jaycee organization. As young leaders and potential community leaders, it is important that we as Jaycees become informed, get involved and make a difference.

Several members are business owners. Through Jaycees they can achieve better business opportunities.

Chapter Management
Planning and communications are essential for a chapter to succeed. Members wanted to concentrate on having plans and implementing them.

Financial Management
Several past presidents and senators have run projects for financial management prior to the re-charter of the Naples Junior Chamber, Inc.. Members have indicated that two projects will offset the costs of running the chapter.

Public Relations
If you are not in the media... You do not exist. The members want to see their hard work on the television and in the local newspaper.

Chapter Weakness: Failure to send out news releases on each activity and failure to participate in the Outstanding Young Floridian Awards.

Chapter Activities
Members identified the need for fun and to obtain an understanding the organization structure. They also indicated that good feedback for their efforts were important as well.

Chapter Strengths: Members like to get together and have fun, as well as believe in the community service of our organization.

Membership Recruitment
The Naples Junior Chamber, Inc. is dedicated to share the Jaycee movement to every young person in our community.
Priority #1: Recruitment Priority #2: Grow by 20% of base membership
Chapter Strengths: Dedicated members; have an establish reputation in the community; and have motivated members.
Chapter Weaknesses: Members are new and unfamiliar with recruitment process.

Goal: To recruit one (1) new members a month.

Goal: To achieve 45 members by January 1, 1998.

Solutions: Implement activities that involve new members such as a membership night or happy hour for new members.
Membership Services
Members indicated a need to activate, provide presentation and training, in order to retain members.

Chapter Strengths: Have previous members/Senator that can assist the chapter with activation, retention, and orientation.

Goal: Activate 50% of membership to participate in recruitment of new members. Involve the member in a project within 90 days.

Goal : To retain 80% each month membership by involving the members in the Springboard Program and the Degree of Jaycees Program

Goal: To conduct a quarterly new member orientation.
Problem: Lack of Activation Programs and members not becoming involved.Solution: Implement Fun programs as wells as the Degrees of Jaycees and Springboard programs.

The NAPLES JUNIOR CHAMBER meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at the Jaycee Community Center located just off Golden Gate Parkway at 2950 64th St SW - Naples, Fl. (next to bridge over I-75).
Meetings start at 7:30 pm and guests are encouraged to attend.
