NFN - PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATIONS OF NORTH COLLIER COUNTY(Formerly known as The Second District Association)

PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATIONS OF NORTH COLLIER COUNTY

HISTORY

The Second District Association was formed in 1989 by a group of representatives from six homeowner associations and North Naples businesses who wished to establish an ongoing dialogue with their County Commissioner.

After several meetings, the representatives formulated the following mission statement:

"To ascertain, interpret and advance the best interests of the property owners and/or residents of Collier County's Second Commission District. In so doing, to be mindful of the primary concerns of the owners within each precinct and/or neighborhood. However, the overriding mission is to foster the affairs of the district as a whole.

To communicate on a regular basis with the Second District commissioner and other county officials, elected and appointed. To determine the issues, and from time to time, take positions should there be a consensus of the membership. The Board and membership shall determine actions to be taken as the Association interfaces with the various governmental and/or other concerned agencies.

The Association shall not endorse any political candidate."

In 1993, the name of the Association was changed to "Property Owners Associations of North Collier County" to better reflect the membership.
