SONS OF NORWAY
The club began March 1992 and meets the third Friday of the month with dinner socials including
some ethnic presentation.
Purpose and goals: To promote, preserve and cherish a lasting appreciation of Norwegian
heritage and culture, along with Danish, Swedish and some Finnish and Icelandic culture.
Charities: Disaster relief Red Cross, Sons of Norway Foundation to provide funds for
scholarships, Ski for Light, help needy members and Camp Norway.
Functions: Bazaar, Viking boat race, Rekefest, Julefesst, Santa Lucia Queen, May Pole
Celebration, Fourth of July Parade(Naples & Bonita) Viking Queen for Leif Erickson Day and Syttende Mai.
Special Projects: Folk Dance classes, Rosemaling lessons and Culture Day presentations at
elementary schools.

Cost $27.00 a person yearly, spouse $22.00 yearly, $10.00 initiation fee. Membership includes annual subscription, mailed monthly, to Viking magazine.
Most members are from Estero, Bonita, Naples or Marco.
