THE NAPLES INSTITUTE

Private Citizens at Work on Public Problems

The Naples Institute is a national non-partisan and non-profit organization founded in 1989 to help in cultivation of responsible leadership in America. A parallel mission is to help in formation of public policies, both national and local, through delivery of reliable information to policy makers and the public all within the single purpose of strengthening our democratic system.

A major conference center, to be constructed in Naples, Florida, will serve as headquarters for the Institute, with facilities for study and open discussion of policy issues. The Institute is chartered by the states of Florida and Massachusetts, with academic and fiscal responsibilities mandated to its founding source, Mount Ida College, Newton Centre, Massachusetts.

A Board of Governors, comprised of Naples leaders supervises the work of eight Policy Councils and their annual public events series, THE PEOPLE SPEAK.

The Bradford Morse Memorial Program brings an international world leader to Naples each year and extends the work of the Institute throughout the Western Hemisphere and the world. Plans are proceeding for establishment of an international leadership training program to be located in the Institute's Headquarters in Naples. This is expected to become one of the principal activities of The Naples Institute
