This is a great way for you to learn how to take care of yourself, your family and your neighbors in the event of an emergency. C.E.R. T. is a group of concerned citizens that is organized and receives seven weeks of training that enhances their ability to recognize, respond to, and recover from a major emergency or disaster. Previous emergency experience is not required. The seven-week course is free with all books and materials provided.

Community Emergency Response Teams are being developed across the country and overseas in hopes of preparing the general public to help themselves, their families, their neighbors and their community before, during and after an emergency or disaster.

Multidisciplined training teams are available to provide comprehensive certified 21 hour FEMA training to volunteers in the techniques that may save lives, money, and heartache. For more information, contact your local Emergency Management office, or FEMA's CERT Coordinator.

Several Southern Florida trainers have completed their training, and several local teams are already in place, including Isles of Capri and North Naples.  Active teams are already at work in Orange, Broward, and
Seminole Counties.  Additional Collier County
CERT training will be available soon.  Please check
this page often for updated training information.
