                                                                                                   Quoting from Gary's Auto Bio
"A twenty year Radio and Television career drove me to Emergency Management! As a volunteer in what used to be 'Civil Defense' since the late 60's, it really wasn't such a stretch. Working in all phases of the Department's operations, and specializing in communications and computer related technologies, I find challenges in new ways of doing things better and faster."

"The Net has become a valuable tool for Emergency Managers, and many still aren't aware of its value. Weather data that so important in the hurricane prone areas, hazardous material information, news and information that can be so critical in alerting you to the fact that an emergency in imminent; they're all available if you know where to look. E-mail makes it so much easier to stay in touch from anywhere. The Web is an interesting place to provide emergency information, and we're trying to do just that in our graphic based and text based home pages, and our other information pages on the Naples FreeNet. The newest page is called 'Emergency Action Information,' and contains current important information. !"

"As an amateur radio operator (Amateur Extra Class license) since 1974, I have a true appreciation for our volunteers, especially our 'ham' friends. Find out more about our ARES/RACES group on their home page. I also enjoy DXing, satellites, VHF SSB, and would like some time to dabble in SSTV and ATV."

"There isn't a place on Earth that's immune to disaster in some form or another...and it's up to each individual to prepare to survive!"

Gary was leader in the field of emergency communications and the use of new technologies.  He left this life on May 20th, 2001 and will be sorely missed.
