STEP BY STEP CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
STEP BY STEP CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER is an early prevention and developmental intervention program of TECH of Collier County, Inc.,which provides specialized services for infants and preschoolers with special needs. The purpose of Step By Step is to provide infants and young children, who meet the eligibility criteria, with developmental and educational training and therapies to support and/or intervene in their development. The goals of this support and intervention are: (1) to allow and encourage the children to reach their full potential in every area of development in the least restrictive environment; (2) to educate and train parents as primary caregivers and to synthesize therapies and educational techniques, by providing an all encompassing intervention; and (3) to support the family unit by counseling and parent support activities to help keep the unit intact and functioning soundly and to provide a healthy, supportive environment for the child and all the family members. Specialized services offered, which are partially funded by the Florida Departments of Education and HRS Children's Medical Services, include:
Free developmental screening
Speech, physical and occupational therapy screening
Family Support Plans
Parent training in center or home-based
Developmental preschool in Naples (5860 Golden Gate Parkway) and Immokalee (418 School Dr.)
Developmental, speech/language, occupational, physical, and water therapy
Play groups
Parent counseling, parent support groups, and social work services
All state certified and licensed professional staff with small classes and ratios
