Sand & Stone Frequently Asked Questions

The Sand & Stone triathlon series is a non-sanctioned, members only, no frills fun ride. No timing, just a good time.

Sand & Stone Triathlon is held at the Willow Run Quarry in Naples, Florida. The site is 2 miles south of exit #101 off of Interstate 75. From the North or East Coast, take I-75 to Naples, Exi#101, CR 951 and head south. In 2 miles, look for the Quarry entrance on the left (East Side).

This is an off road, adventure type ride. There is a ¼ mile spring fed quarry swim, followed by a technical 9-mile off road Mountain bike ride and a 3 mile, trail run through rugged terrain including a slime pit and two or more short swims. Be prepared to get muddy. PS Don't wear your new running shoes.

You definitely need a mountain bike; full suspension is nice but not necessary.

There are no extra bikes available at the race, but may be local bike rentals available in Naples.

Wet suits are allowed, but won't be practical during the run swims.

This race is doable by all ages and all levels of experience, but you will need to be fit.

The race starts at 12 noon, except for certain circumstances which will be posted on the homepage for that particular race.

There are several motels at I-75 exit #101. Holiday Inn Express 239-348-1700, Comfort Inns 239-353-9500, Baymont Inn 239-352-8400. Please note, this is "Season" and reservations are a must.

Please note, this is a small, grassroots, casual, club race with the emphasis on fun. Swag, prizes and amenities are at a minimum. No computer timing chips, no splits. The race atmosphere is recreational, not competitive.

This is a members only event, you may join the NATS the morning of the event.

You will sign a liability waiver for you and your guests to enter the property.
