Elizabeth was the sixth child and fourth daughter of Jean Francois (Cloutier) Clutchey and Charlotte Salois. She was more often known as Lizzie. According to census data her birth was listed as 1846 in Quebec. ( Ontario census). This was corroborated by David and Beth Clutchey who found baptismal records for both Elizabeth and Joseph Cloutier in the parish church at Henryville Quebec showing that both Elizabeth and her older brother Joseph were born in the town of Dunham Quebec.
Strangely the father of the two children was listed as Jean Baptiste Cloutier instead of Jean Francois Cloutier, but the mother was correctly listed as Charlotte Salois.
This finding allowed us to pinpoint the last known residence of the Cloutier family before they moved to Ontario.
When the 1861 census was taken in Ontario, Lizzie was 15 years of age and living at home with her parents.
On July 18th, 1869, at the age of 23, Lizzie married Michael Perkins
Born on November 27th 1869 in Port Perry, Walter was the first child born to Elizabeth and Michael. Israel Clutchey and Mary (the younger?) were the sponsors of Walter Henry when he was baptized.
Catherine was born August 29th 1872, and baptized November 6th (1875?). The sponsors were Peter Koster and his wife Leah Saunders. A strange record of the baptismal events shows that Catherine was born in the United States. The possibility is that the couple had already moved to the United States and that on a subsequent visit had Catherine baptized in the home area of her parents and grandparents.
