Rosella was born July 31st. 1880 in Brechin. Rosella died on Sept. 16th. 1949 in Shelburn, Ont. She was described by Bernice (Wood) Paget, as "always working". She was, Bernice states, "a practical nurse and had a nursing home (mostly for new mothers) in Shelburne". Here Mary Gertrude's children, Pat, Bev, Doreen and Arlene were raised and had a happy home life. Roselle married James Staley Wood at the St. Andrew's Church in Brechin on Feb. 13th. 1899. Bernice describes James as "a soft spoken man, also a religious man (but a quiet one) a nice gramps, one you could hug". James was a carpenter and after Rosella's death of leukemia, he did remarry in 1951 to Elizabeth 'Lizzie' St. Amond and later in 1958 he remarried for the third in 1958 to Josephine 'Josie' St. Amand.
